In this interactive and practical workshop, we will cover three parts: Instant Career Plan, Success in a New Role, and Managing Up.

Session 1: Instant Career Plan

  • Clarity about career and the various dimensions of career planning

  • Brainstorming on a variety of possibilities to move forward

  • Committing to clear steps to take to advance your career

ONE-PAGE CAREER PLAN

There are 7 parts of the One-Page Career Plan which can bring these benefits. Each of the 7 parts have more exercises and questions to help you design your plan. Here are some summary questions to get on the road with your plan.

  1. Spike (Like in Volleyball) = Where will I be the best?

  2. Value = What value will I provide to others?

  3. Vision = What is the vision for my career? You could write a list, draw a picture, think of a metaphor, and imagine what others would say about your influence.

  4. Values = What is most important to me which guides my career decisions?

  5. Steps = What are likely steps that my career might take?

  6. Double Spike (think of a two handed power spike in volleyball) = Where am I now in the double spike framework (Sitting Duck, Caught in the Middle, Networker, Guru or Double Spiker)

  7. One-Page Career Plan = Pulling together all the elements. This becomes a living and breathing document which can be updated throughout your career!

Session 2: Success in a New Role

What could be the results of your success in a new role?

  • Assess your strengths and weaknesses and identify personal vulnerabilities

  • Diagnose your situation and understand its challenges and opportunities

  • Negotiate a productive working relationship with your boss

  • Secure early wins that establish credibility and create momentum

  • Build your team and connect with influential support coalitions

Here's how Accelerating Your Contribution at Work in 90 Days works:

  • You will have a road map for creating your 90-day Acceleration Plan.

  • You will work through 10 key transition challenges.

  • You will process an Acceleration Checklist to help you crystallize the key lessons so you can apply them to your situation.

  • You will have a monthly 50 minute group coaching Zoom call for 3 months.

Session 3: Managing and Leading Up

  • Improve what might be your most important relationship in your role.

  • Gain clarity about what matter’s to your manager in terms of performance.

  • Gain awareness of the true quality of the relationship.

  • Improve communication with your manager.

you will have a strategy to:

  • Develop an accurate picture of the current relationship.

  • Find ways to strengthen the relationship.
